Nexus Activity Volunteers

Nexus is Latin for "next in line" and is a program that provides engaging activities to unmatched youth on our waitlist for one on one mentoring. The program serves youth, ages 6 to 17 who benefit from having another trusted adult in their life. Youth are referred to the program by community agencies and individuals such as school counselors, Department of Human Services, Integrated Community, and others. Each youth mentee is carefully matched with an adult volunteer that is recruited, screened, trained, and supervised by a Partners Case Manager to spend time with the youth while in a group setting.

Mentees waiting to be matched receive services through our Nexus waitlist program where Activity Volunteers take just these youth on group activities. We have planned group recreational activities once or twice a month. Each Activity Volunteer is matched with 1-3 youth during these activities.
